JP Hurlbert prepares for summer hockey in Michigan after 2026 NHL Draft

JP Hurlbert, selected 23rd overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2026 NHL Draft, is spending his summer in Michigan. After attending the Red Wings development camp, he returned to Texas briefly before resuming training. Hurlbert is among three Red Wings draftees set to participate in the 2026 World Junior Summer Showcase from July 26 to August 1 in Windsor, Ontario. He is also transitioning to the NCAA, joining the Michigan Wolverines next season.
