Juan Soto placed on injured list again with calf strain

Summary

Juan Soto has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a Grade 2 left calf strain, marking his second calf injury this season. This latest injury follows a minor right calf strain in April that sidelined him for about three weeks. With the Mets concluding a difficult season, questions have arisen regarding their training program, especially given that Soto is one of four players with calf or Achilles injuries this season. Interim manager Andy Green indicated that Soto’s recovery timeline may extend beyond this period, with specialists reviewing his MRI. In light of Soto's absence, infielder Eric Wagaman has been called up from Triple-A Syracuse to take his place on the roster.
