Judge addresses missing video in Shilo Sanders bankruptcy court case

A federal judge in Denver is reviewing the absence of surveillance footage central to the bankruptcy trial of Shilo Sanders. The case concerns an $11.89 million civil judgment against Shilo Sanders following a 2015 altercation with a security guard, John Darjean. During the trial held from August 31 to September 4, Judge Michael E. Romero noted the disappearance of video evidence that allegedly captured the encounter. John Darjean has previously accused Colorado coach Deion Sanders of orchestrating the destruction of the footage, though Deion Sanders testified in a deposition that he obtained a copy of the video shortly after the incident. Two witnesses testified that they observed a third camera angle showing Shilo Sanders striking John Darjean, a viewpoint not captured in the two existing segments of footage. No verdict is expected in the bankruptcy case until at least November.
