Judge delays eligibility ruling for URI football players AJ Pena and Justin Carcel

A preliminary injunction regarding the eligibility of University of Rhode Island football players AJ Pena and Justin Carcel has been postponed until September 24, following a session in Washington County Superior Court. Both players are seeking a fifth year of eligibility to participate in collegiate athletics after previously completing four years. They are not allowed to play in games while awaiting the ruling but can continue practicing with the team. URI football is preparing for a match against Stony Brook on September 19.
