Julian Lewis joins Maxwell Award watch list for 2026 college football season

Colorado starting quarterback Julian Lewis has been named to the 2026 Maxwell Award watch list, an honor recognizing outstanding college football players. The Maxwell Football Club announced Lewis's inclusion among 81 candidates. He is one of 15 players from the Big 12 Conference on the list. Lewis, a former five-star recruit, played in four games last season, throwing for 589 yards and four touchdowns. He is expected to compete for the starting job before the season opener on September 3, 2026. Semifinalists for the Maxwell Award will be revealed on November 10, with the winner announced on December 10, 2026.
