Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith lead Ohio State past Ball State

Ohio State defeated Ball State 56-3 on Saturday in Columbus. The Buckeyes established a 28-3 lead during the first half before head coach Ryan Day substituted his starters in the second half. Quarterback Julian Sayin concluded the game with 320 passing yards and four total touchdowns, including three through the air and one on the ground. Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith recorded eight receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Both players have drawn early attention for their potential to reach the Heisman Trophy final based on their performance throughout the contest. Ohio State prepares to travel to Austin next Saturday for a game against the Texas Longhorns. Kickoff for the upcoming matchup is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
