Justin Herbert has been placed third in Bleacher Report’s NFL 1000 quarterback rankings, edging Patrick Mahomes, who ranks fourth. Both quarterbacks received an overall grade of 91, but a majority vote among scouts elevated Herbert ahead of Mahomes. Herbert's ranking comes after a strong performance in the 2025 season, where he led the Chargers to an 11-5 record and a playoff appearance. Despite his rise in ranking, questions remain about his ability to translate individual success into team achievements compared to Mahomes' Super Bowl victories.
- •Herbert received a perfect score for arm talent and high scores for accuracy.
- •Mahomes has three Super Bowl championships but sits behind Herbert in this ranking.
- •Only Matthew Stafford and Josh Allen ranked higher than Herbert.
- •The ranking reflects current performance more than career achievements.
