Justin Steinman second at MHSAA golf finals after opening round

Justin Steinman of DeWitt is in contention for a state title after shooting a 69 in the opening round of the MHSAA golf Division 2 finals at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University. He currently ranks second, two strokes behind leader Tristan Pohl of Freeland, as DeWitt holds sixth place with a team score of 314. In Division 4 at Forest Akers West, Lansing Christian's Ben Rottman is tied for sixth after carding an 80, and the team is ninth overall. Division 3 features Lansing Catholic in a tie for eighth place with a score of 334. Lastly, Grand Ledge's Christian Helzer sits 25th in the Division 1 finals at Ferris State with a round of 75.
