The Kansas City Chiefs have waived rookie wide receiver Jeff Caldwell with an injury designation. Caldwell, who suffered a hyper-extended left knee, must clear waivers to revert to the injured reserve list. He played in the preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams but did not record any statistics. To fill Caldwell's roster position, the Chiefs signed defensive end Niles King, who previously played at San Diego State. King had a standout senior season with 30 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
