Kansas City trades Lane Thomas to Atlanta Braves

Kansas City has traded outfielder Lane Thomas to the Atlanta Braves on August 1. In the deal, Thomas and left-handed pitcher Bailey Falter were sent to Atlanta in exchange for right-handed pitcher Lucas Braun and left-handed pitcher Carter Holton. Thomas played 97 games for the Royals in 2026, posting a.232 batting average and hitting 10 home runs. Previously a former Tennessee baseball signee, he has also played for St. Louis, Washington, and Cleveland during his MLB career. Thomas is known for his high school performance, achieving a.410 batting average with 17 home runs in his senior year at Bearden High School in Tennessee.
