Kansas City has traded outfielder Lane Thomas to the Atlanta Braves on August 1. In the deal, Thomas and left-handed pitcher Bailey Falter were sent to Atlanta in exchange for right-handed pitcher Lucas Braun and left-handed pitcher Carter Holton. Thomas played 97 games for the Royals in 2026, posting a.232 batting average and hitting 10 home runs. Previously a former Tennessee baseball signee, he has also played for St. Louis, Washington, and Cleveland during his MLB career.
