Karl Ravech calls ESPN telecast after recent layoff from the network

Karl Ravech returned to the ESPN booth to call the Braves-Nationals game on July 30, 2026. More than a week after being laid off following 33 years with the network, Ravech is expected to work on additional broadcasts this summer, including a Yankees-Mariners game on August 12 and the Little League World Series. Although currently laid off, Ravech's performance during the telecast remained professional and well-informed. Alongside Ravech, ESPN has made other cuts as part of broader layoffs affecting various positions at the company, including NFL analyst Ryan Clark and others.
