Karl Stenson commits to play golf at University of Florida

Karl Stenson, the 16-year-old son of major champion Henrik Stenson, announced his verbal commitment to the University of Florida on Friday. A rising junior at Circle Christian School in Orlando, Florida, Stenson is currently ranked 15th in the Class of 2028 and holds the 118th position in the Universal Golf Ranking. His recent competition experience includes several amateur and junior events held in Sweden and Spain over the summer. He joins a Gators golf program that enters the 2026-27 season ranked No. 1 in the Golf Channel preseason team rankings. Stenson follows in the footsteps of Luke Poulter, another son of a former European Ryder Cup player currently on the roster. The commitment bolsters the Gators' talent pipeline as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
