Karlyn Pickens pitches shutout for USA in Women's Softball World Cup

Karlyn Pickens, a former Tennessee softball standout, delivered a complete-game shutout for the USA women’s national team against New Zealand on September 14, securing a 9-0 victory in five innings. The game was part of the group stage of the Women's Softball World Cup held in Oklahoma City. Pickens struck out 10 batters and allowed only one hit, continuing her impressive performance in the tournament, where the USA team has not yet allowed a run. The U.S. also claimed wins against Mexico, Brazil, and the Netherlands in earlier group play. As the tournament progresses, the top two teams from each group will advance to the finals in 2027.
