Karren Brady defends decision to stay at West Ham amid Sullivan ban

Baroness Karren Brady remained with West Ham United despite knowing co-owner David Sullivan was banned from contacting the women’s and youth teams due to safeguarding concerns. Her lawyers stated she had no knowledge of allegations against Sullivan, who is accused of sexual misconduct. Brady acknowledged awareness of the Football Association’s concerns in July 2023 but claimed she was not involved in the decision to restrict Sullivan’s access. She continued her role at West Ham until stepping down in April 2026, citing a principle of presumption of innocence in her defense. Sullivan has denied all allegations against him.
