Katie Drew captures third Lincoln Highway title at Shady Oaks

Katie Drew, a 2024 Dixon grad, won her third Ladies Lincoln Highway golf title on July 12 at Shady Oaks Country Club. She posted a score of +31, emerging from a competitive field that included Kim Kester, the Northern Illinois University women's golf coach, who finished tied in the leaderboard. Katie's Timber Creek team finished as runners-up to Kishwaukee, who logged a total of +119, with Timber Creek ending at +99. Rachel Drew, Katie’s younger sister, placed third for Timber Creek with a +11, marking their first time competing in the same tournament. Katie noted her strategy involved careful club selection, opting for irons on narrow holes to stay competitive.
