Katie Taylor's future unclear as women's boxing faces transition
Summary

Katie Taylor is set for her final fight in September at Croke Park before a home crowd of 80,000. Amanda Serrano has indicated that 2026 may mark her last year in boxing, and Claressa Shields plans to take a break to start a family after her most recent victory. This shift could leave women's boxing without its most prominent stars. Taylor and Serrano have played key roles in elevating the sport's profile and creating historic moments, raising questions about who can step into their roles. Upcoming fights, particularly Serrano's title defense against Lucrecia Manzur, could set the stage for the next generation of fighters.
