Kawhi Leonard revealed as investor in Rhode Island FC amid NBA investigation

Kawhi Leonard is confirmed as a minority investor in Rhode Island FC, a professional soccer club in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. This information comes to light during the NBA's ongoing investigation of Leonard's salary cap circumvention issues with the LA Clippers. Leonard, his uncle, and former agent acquired stakes in the team amid its financial struggles in 2023. The Pawtucket stadium project has raised questions due to over $110 million in public funding, originally intended for a broader development plan which included affordable housing. The investigation into the Clippers involves allegations surrounding a $28 million marketing deal that Leonard allegedly had with a defunct company. The implications of this revelation may extend Leonard's current situation with the Clippers until next year.
