Kawhi Leonard's sponsorship with Clippers scoreboard-maker under investigation

Kawhi Leonard's multimillion-dollar sponsorship deal with Daktronics, which built the scoreboard for the new Intuit Dome, is under scrutiny amid allegations of salary cap circumvention involving the Los Angeles Clippers. The NBA's investigation into Leonard and Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has now lasted nearly ten months. Adam Silver, the NBA Commissioner, confirmed the ongoing inquiry into the endorsement deal, which reportedly involved funds sourced from the Clippers rather than Daktronics. This development has delayed a potential trade between Leonard and the Toronto Raptors. Both Leonard and Ballmer have denied any wrongdoing, framing themselves as victims of fraud related to a separate sponsorship.
