Keely Hodgkinson skips Commonwealth Games to focus on European Championships

Keely Hodgkinson will not compete in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, opting to manage her busy summer schedule. The Olympic 800m champion had informed that she would not enter the event and will focus instead on the European Athletic Championships starting in Birmingham on August 10. Hodgkinson has won the last two continental titles in the 800m, and with 63 athletes representing Team England, the athletics program in Glasgow is robust. Athletes such as Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Amy Hunt are expected to compete.
