Kelly Dempsey qualifies for PGA National event, becomes PGA HOPE ambassador

Kelly Dempsey, a Coast Guard veteran from Glens Falls, secured her place at the Veteran Golfers Association Nationals, scheduled for October 5-7 at Fallen Oak Golf Club in Biloxi, Mississippi. Dempsey achieved this by posting scores of 82-82 (164) at the VGA North Region Championship at Penn National Golf Club. She has also been named the PGA HOPE Ambassador for the Northeastern New York PGA's adaptive golf program, aimed at helping military veterans and active-duty service members engage with the sport. Dempsey will attend a weeklong conference in Washington D.C. to learn more about veteran wellness and strategies to assist those dealing with PTSD. She plans to leverage her experiences in both the military and education to support local PGA HOPE initiatives.
