Kelsey Plum will miss the remainder of the 2026 WNBA season following persistent lower-leg injuries. The Phoenix Mercury announced that the 32-year-old guard will not return after appearing in only five games since her midseason trade from the Los Angeles Sparks. Plum previously struggled with an ankle injury earlier in the season before sustaining the lower-leg issue. Beyond the WNBA season, she has withdrawn from the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. A’ja Wilson also withdrew from the FIBA tournament, and both players will be replaced by Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen. Plum is slated to become a free agent this upcoming offseason as she continues her recovery.
