Kemon Spell leads McKeesport high school football team toward championship goals

McKeesport senior running back Kemon Spell is focused on the current season as he leads the Tigers toward a WPIAL Championship and state title. Ranked as the top national running back recruit, Spell committed to Georgia in February after previously pledging to Penn State. Despite missing five games last season due to an ankle injury, he recorded 1,700 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns. Head coach Tom Smith noted that Spell maintains a grounded approach despite significant attention from recruiters and regional fans. Spell currently serves as a central figure for the team, balancing leadership responsibilities with his on-field assignments. The program has not secured a state championship in 21 years, and Spell aims to change that history during his senior campaign.
