Ken Davy has resigned as chairman of Huddersfield Giants effective immediately, after more than 30 years in the role. Ralph Rimmer will take over as executive chairman while Davy remains the owner of the club. Davy, now 85, expressed the need for new leadership as the Giants currently sit at the bottom of the Super League, having suffered 16 defeats in 18 matches this season. Under Davy's leadership, the team has had mixed results, including three Challenge Cup finals but only one year outside the top flight since entering the Super League in 1998. Davy looks forward to supporting the club in a new capacity.
