Kendal Grey becomes NXT Women's Champion at Great American Bash

It took a couple of years but former mixed martial artist Lola Vice made it to the top of a stacked NXT women’s division at Stand & Deliver back in early April. During her rise through the ranks, former amateur wrestling star Kendal Grey was signed and had a quiet ascension of her own, leading to the same main event that saw Vice crowned. Her work has been so good that Dave Meltzer famously said she is going to end up being the best women’s wrestler in U.S. history. That kind of high praise is surely part of what has led to her rise, and ultimately challenging Vice for the NXT women’s championship in the main event of tonight’s (Sun., June 28, 2026) Great American Bash event on The CW. The clash of styles in a singles setting made for one hell of a fun back-and-forth battle. Grey would change levels and throw Vice around but Lola did her best to make it a slugfest. They were both taking each other’s best shots, both in and outside the ring. How close was it? They were out here doing double knockout, double pin, double kickout sequences. In the end, they went ahead and paid off the hype and potential by getting behind Grey. She hit Shades of Grey coming off the ropes, the third of the match, and that was enough to give her the win.
