Kendrick Perkins becomes basketball GM at Jackson State University

Kendrick Perkins has been named the men's basketball General Manager at Jackson State University, effective immediately. The former Boston Celtics player, who won an NBA championship in 2008, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to positively influence young athletes and contribute to the community. Perkins, who has worked as an ESPN analyst since 2019, joins a Jackson State program coming off a 12-21 season and that has not reached the NCAA Tournament since 2007. He also coaches his son's AAU team.
