Kendry Chourio and Blake Mitchell selected for MLB Futures Game

Kendry Chourio and Blake Mitchell have been named to the MLB Futures Game, scheduled for July 12 at Citizens Bank Ballpark in Philadelphia. Chourio, a pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, has impressed with a 1.88 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 11 Low-A starts. Mitchell, a catcher and the eighth overall pick in the 2023 draft, is having a productive season at High-A. He has recorded 13 home runs and 16 steals in 68 games. Chourio is ranked as the 70th best prospect by MLB Pipeline, while Mitchell is noted for his plate discipline and strong performance following a recent injury.
