AEW stuck around in Jon Moxley’s hometown last night (June 11) to tape another big Summer Blockbuster show after Dynamite on Wednesday. Thursday night’s show included the Collision episode which will premiere on TNT and HBO Max this Saturday, June 13 at its usual 8 p.m. Eastern start. Several of the matches, including the Cincinnati Street Fight main event and Kenny Omega’s opener against Bad Dude Tito, were set-up on Dynamite Summer Blockbuster. Here’s what went down at The Andrew J Brady Music Center, courtesy of The Takedown on SI.com, Fightful, and posts on social media from fans in attendance: Kenny Omega def. Bad Dude Tito, then cut a promo about how beating Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door is his ticket to a World title match at All In this August. Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada are backstage, and ProtOkada blames Konosuke Takeshita for Mark Davis being knocked out of the Owen Cup, and vowing to reclaim the International title for The Don Callis Family. Another segment with The Opps, where Anthony Bowens asserts himself and Hook tells him to know his role. The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) def. Aaron Atlas & Austin Atlas, then introduced their teammate Myron Reed… Kevin Knight def. Myron Reed to retain the TNT title, with an assist from Don Callis Athena gets mic time to send her condolences to Maya World before telling World her cinderella Owen Cup run is over now that they’re set for battle. Athena def. Tiara James via submission. She didn’t let up after the bell, leading to Maya running in for the save and a brawl. Backstage with The Demand, and Ricochet pronouncing that he’s done with the feud of Jericho, and ready to get back to chasing gold, also mentioning Takeshita’s International belt.I The Dogs def. The Young Bucks, with the help of Finlay’s shillelagh Thekla promos through the crowd, inviting her nemesis (and Stardom president) Taro Okado to Forbidden Door, and challenging him to send the promotion’s best to face her there. We’re later told that former Wonder of Stardom champ Starlight Kid will be facing the AEW Women’s champ at June 28’s cross-promotional PPV. I turn it over to our old colleague Rick Ucchino, now with The Takedown, for this one: “The Bang Bang Gang spoke passionately backstage about their desire to neuter The Dogs.” Persephone def. Julia Hart to qualify for the TBS Championship Survival of the Fittest Match Jake Doyle def. Speedball Mike Bailey. Kevin Knight was ringside for this. Hikaru Shida def. Zayda Steel to qualify for the TBS Championship Survival of the Fittest Match Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia, PAC, Claudio Castagnoli & Marina Shafir) def. Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, Lee Moriarty, Carlie Bravo, Shawn Dean & Trish Adora) in a Cincinnati Street Fight. Other than Tony Khan doing the Timecop and thanks bits, that’s the report. Sound like a good reason to Collide with Collision Summer Blockbuster on TNT or HBO Max this weekend?
