Kentucky adds junior college running back for 2026 football season

The Kentucky Wildcats have secured a commitment from junior college running back Ahmir Smith for the 2026 football season. Smith, a 5'10", 200 lb player from South Carolina, previously played at Garden City Community College, where he recorded 322 rushing yards and 8 total touchdowns last season. Despite joining the team just a month and a half before the season begins, Smith has three years of eligibility remaining and could contribute to the rotation alongside C.J. Baxter and Jovantae Barnes. This late addition fits into head coach Will Stein's plans as the Wildcats seek to bolster their running game.
