Kentucky cornerbacks Nichols and Sykes return to practice for Alabama matchup

Kentucky coach Will Stein stated that starting cornerbacks Terhyon Nichols and Hasaan Sykes practiced on September 8 and are expected to play against Alabama this coming Saturday. The duo missed the team's season-opening 45-13 victory over Youngstown State. While Kentucky recorded a dominant win in the opener, the defensive unit faced challenges during the game that the staff aims to address against the Crimson Tide. Nichols, a junior, has recorded 28 tackles and nine pass deflections during his tenure at Kentucky. Sykes, a transfer from Western Carolina, joins the lineup after recording 49 tackles and five pass deflections in 2025. Their availability provides a veteran presence for the secondary as the team prepares to face Alabama. The Wildcats have historically struggled against the program, having won only twice in 41 previous meetings.
