Kentucky volleyball holds outdoor practice for upcoming match at Wrigley Field

Kentucky volleyball held an outdoor practice session Thursday at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Facility to prepare for the Big Ten/SEC Volleyball Challenge. The Wildcats are scheduled to face Penn State at Wrigley Field this Sunday. To simulate the unfamiliar outdoor conditions, the team constructed makeshift courts designed to replicate the orientation of the Wrigley Field setup. Head coach Craig Skinner noted that the practice was essential for players to adjust to wind, sun glare, and altered ball movement, factors that differ significantly from indoor play. Because the match will take place on a raised Taraflex court in a professional baseball stadium, the NCAA granted the team a waiver to conduct the outdoor drills. The event will also feature a match between Missouri and Nebraska as part of the inaugural challenge.
