Kentucky's Joe Sloan will call plays from the box this season

Joe Sloan, the offensive coordinator for the Kentucky Wildcats, announced at UK Football Media Day that he will call plays from the box during games this season. Sloan emphasized the advantages of this position, citing a better view of the field and a calmer environment. Previously, during his tenure at LSU, he also preferred calling plays from above the field. While head coach Will Stein has an offensive background, he will focus on his head coaching responsibilities, collaborating with Sloan and other coaches on play-calling. The Wildcats' season opener against Youngstown State is scheduled for September 5.
