Kevin Colbert backs Kenny Pickett as Steelers quarterback pick

Former Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert has defended the selection of quarterback Kenny Pickett in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Colbert believes Pickett, who struggled with 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 24 starts, was still the right choice at the time. Despite concerns surrounding Pickett's performance, Colbert stated that he projected him to be a start-and-win quarterback and noted he had a record of 14-10 in his first two seasons. The Steelers have since explored alternatives at quarterback but continue to reflect on Pickett's potential in their search for a franchise quarterback.
