Kevin Durant builds long-term friendships through online gaming sessions

Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant recently revealed that some of his closest friends are individuals he met through online video games over the last decade. The 37-year-old forward maintains a group of approximately 10 people he plays with regularly to decompress after his NBA schedule. While Durant manages a professional basketball career, several of his gaming companions work traditional 9-to-5 jobs. He noted that these virtual interactions evolved into real-world friendships, with some associates even visiting his home. Beyond his off-court interests, Durant remains an active player, recently earning a spot on the All-NBA Second Team after averaging 26.0 points per game during the 2025-26 season.
