Kevin Durant trains to improve passing under double teams for Houston

Trainer Jamal "Dash" Lovell is working with Kevin Durant on passing mechanics to reduce turnovers when facing double teams during the upcoming 2026-27 NBA season. The 18-year veteran recorded nine turnovers in a single postseason game against the Lakers last year before Houston was eliminated from the playoffs. During his first season with the Rockets, Durant averaged 26 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. The organization expects the recent additions of Marcus Smart and Fred VanVleet to distribute ball-handling responsibilities and reduce pressure on Durant. This offseason work focuses on refining his playmaking when fatigued or tightly guarded.
