Kevin Hardy campaigns for College Football Hall of Fame bids

Former Illinois standout Kevin Hardy visited Champaign-Urbana this week to support the school's latest Illinois Athletics Hall of Fame inductees, Brandon Lloyd and Howard Griffith. During David Williams' annual golf outing, Hardy addressed his ongoing candidacy for the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta. Both Hardy and Simeon Rice have been overlooked by the committee despite multiple nominations. Hardy, a 1995 Butkus Award winner, was the second overall pick in the 1996 NFL draft and achieved significant production as a professional. Beyond his advocacy for the Hall of Fame, Hardy is preparing to attend the game between Purdue and Wake Forest on Saturday to watch his sons, defensive linemen Camden and Langston, compete for the Demon Deacons. Hardy remains active in supporting the Illinois program, noting that the team is currently navigating the changing of NIL and revenue sharing.
