Kieran Tuntivate wins New Haven 20K road race as Charles Hicks takes title

Kieran Tuntivate finished first at the 49th annual Faxon Law New Haven 20K road race on Labor Day, clocking a time of 58:03. His training partner, Charles Hicks, followed three seconds later to secure the USATF 20K national championship. Tuntivate, who holds dual citizenship in Thailand and the United States, was ineligible for the national title as he competes for Thailand. The duo broke away from the field around the five-mile mark. Rachael Rudel won the women's USATF title with a time of 1:04:58. Several elite runners, including Sara Hall and Leonard Korir, withdrew from the race due to injuries prior to the event. Approximately 6,000 runners participated in the race series, which included a half marathon, relay, and 5K.
