King Beard secured a third-place finish in the 100 meters at the Division IV state track meet, clocking 11.12 seconds. Initially focusing on the 200 meters, where he finished fourth, Beard shifted his strategy to concentrate on the 100 during the week leading up to the meet. His performances in both events led to personal bests this season, including a time of 10.99 in regional preliminaries and 22.54 in the 200. Looking ahead, Beard plans to take the next two weeks to decide between continuing track and pursuing basketball or specializing in one sport.
