Kinley Rasmus debuts for Central-Phenix City high school flag football team

Following a record-setting appearance at the Little League World Series, 12-year-old Kinley Rasmus made her high school flag football debut for Central-Phenix City on Sept. 1. Rasmus completed four of five pass attempts for 43 yards and two touchdowns in a 63-0 shutout win against Johnson Abernathy Graetz. The Red Devils have now extended their winning streak to 60 games, a run dating back to November 2022. Having served as the team manager for the past two years, Rasmus is expected to maintain a role on both sides of the ball this season while backing up starting quarterback Deeana Amos. Her participation in the Little League World Series marked her final baseball tournament as she shifts her focus to flag football and softball. The team is scheduled to play Opelika on Sept. 8 before traveling to San Diego for the MaxPreps Flag Football Showdown.
