Knickerbocker and LeMay highlight Vermont individual tennis tournament winners

Hannah Knickerbocker of Essex and Niah LeMay of Burlington emerged as champions at the 2026 Vermont individual tennis tournaments held on May 31. Knickerbocker won the girls' singles title in a closely contested three-set match against top-seed Anna Dauerman, while LeMay secured the boys' singles title, defeating teammate Oscar Crainich in straight sets. Both players are first-time individual champions, with Knickerbocker becoming the first female Hornet to win since 2007. In doubles, the freshmen team of India Freund and Belle Gaines from Stowe triumphed, overcoming Champlain Valley's duo in a tense final. Burlington also dominated the boys' doubles tournament, securing both singles and doubles championships for the first time since 2015.
