Knicks lead NBA Finals 3-1, Danhausen poised for WWE spotlight

I’ve been watching sports for a lot of years, and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything as remarkable as the 2026 NBA Champion New York Knicks. The team culminated a 16-3 playoff run Saturday night (June 12) in San Antonio, Texas, ending the hometown Spurs season like they had the Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Atlanta Hawks before them. It was yet another come-from-behind win in a post-season full of them, just days after the largest come-from-behind win in NBA Playoff history. Basketball is a team sport, so we can’t credit one person for this Knicks team ending the franchise’s 53-year title drought and setting up a long few days for the NYPD. But if we were going to pick one… I’m a pro wrestling blogger, and we all know why you clicked, but I’d still have to go with NY’s star point guard who scored 45 of the teams 94 points in the clincher. That would be former SmackDown guest star Jalen Brunson. But second on my MVP ballot would of course go to WWE’s Very Nice, Very Evil demon-person Danhausen, who used his possibly-real-who-knows curse powers on the team while beefing with Knicks superfan Stephen A. Smith on ESPN, then uncursing them in a Cameo right at the start of a 13-game win streak that lasted until WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump showed up in Madison Square Garden on the same night Danhausen did during the Finals. Because of that (and the fact his curse powers probably aren’t real), Danhausen escaped blame. The Wu-Tang Clan reversed the Trump curse, and the rest is history. DANHAUSEN IS THE KING OF NEW YORK! They’re up 3-1 on the San Antonio Spurs, having secured the largest comeback in NBA Finals history in Game 4. Game 5 takes place tonight (June 13, 2026) in Texas. A victory would be huge for New York but equally as great for Danhausen. That’s right, the WWE star who uncursed a team that decidedly felt cursed over the past few decades is getting plenty of credit for their historic postseason. If they can close out the series — and history says it’s all but certain they will do so, statistically speaking — Fightful Select reports WWE has big things in store for the very nice, very evil star who helped them along. Indeed, there are discussions on how to include Danhausen in the Saturday Night’s Main Event show scheduled for July 18 at Madison Square Garden, the venue the Knicks call home. They’ve also got ideas for merchandise and other content at Fanatics Fest, set for that very same weekend. The man is about to become a New York hero and a staple there when WWE heads to town. All because he used his powers for the good of the local basketball team. That deserves all the human monies.
