Kreider signs one-year deal with Canadiens after Ducks terminate contract

Chris Kreider has signed a one-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens as of September 12, 2026. The 35-year-old forward was previously with the Anaheim Ducks, who terminated his contract after he went unclaimed on waivers. Last season, Kreider recorded 50 points in 75 regular-season games and had two goals and five assists in 12 playoff games. His departure from Anaheim follows a trade from the New York Rangers in June 2025. Kreider’s career stats include 632 points in 958 regular-season games and 83 points in 135 playoff games.
