Kyle Hart returns to Cincinnati to pitch for San Diego Padres

Cincinnati native Kyle Hart returned to his hometown on August 31 to pitch for the San Diego Padres at Great American Ball Park. The reliever entered the game against the Reds in the seventh inning, pitching two scoreless frames with four strikeouts and one walk. His performance helped the Padres secure a 5-0 win following a series sweep by the Tampa Bay Rays. Hart, a Sycamore High School graduate, previously played for the Boston Red Sox before spending the 2024 season with the NC Dinos in the Korean Baseball Organization. His success in Korea, where he earned the Choi Dong-won Award, paved his path back to a major league roster. The Padres currently remain in competition for the final National League Wild Card spot.
