Kyle Hayes finds new opportunity with hometown Nationals organization

Kyle Hayes, a 28-year-old catcher, joins the Washington Nationals after being released by the Kansas City Royals earlier this year. An alumnus of James Madison High School, Hayes has experience in the minors and began the season with Double-A Harrisburg before moving to Triple-A Rochester. Currently, he serves as a backup catcher and mentor to younger players in the organization, expressing gratitude for the chance to play for his hometown team. He acknowledges the support of various coaches throughout his career and is open to pursuing a coaching role in the future.
