Kyle Shanahan moves on from Brandon Aiyuk amid reinstatement attempts

Kyle Shanahan, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, has stated he has moved on from Brandon Aiyuk, who recently filed for reinstatement. Shanahan expressed no expectations for Aiyuk's return to the lineup, indicating that his focus has shifted despite Aiyuk's new agent stating the receiver is ready to return. The 49ers have multiple options regarding Aiyuk's contract, including a potential release. Aiyuk's relationship with the team has soured over the past two years, impacting his status this offseason, especially after missing most of the 2024 season with a torn ACL and spending 2025 away from the team.
