Kyle Shanahan signs contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers reached a contract extension with head coach Kyle Shanahan during the offseason, extending his tenure beyond his previous deal that was set to expire after the 2027 season. The organization finalized the agreement quietly, avoiding potential speculation as the team opened the current campaign. Shanahan has served as the 49ers head coach since 2017 and has secured 92 total victories throughout his 10-season career with the club. Following a recent victory against the Los Angeles Rams in Australia, the team currently holds a 1-0 record. The 49ers organization has not disclosed the specific financial terms or the exact length of the new deal. San Francisco is scheduled to host the Dolphins next Sunday.
