Kylian Mbappé appears on kidnapping target list in French criminal investigation

Kylian Mbappé was identified as one of 26 potential targets in a kidnapping plot recently uncovered by investigators in France. The Real Madrid forward was named on a list found on mobile phones seized from an 18-year-old suspect known as Clément L., also referred to as Lester Z. Investigators in Nanterre charged the suspect on August 21 with organized gang robbery and link him to several home invasions and planned kidnappings. The suspect remains in solitary confinement in pretrial detention, while an alleged accomplice is currently challenging conditions of judicial supervision. The list of potential targets discovered by authorities included prominent figures from the business and rap sectors alongside the soccer player. Investigators are now working to determine the extent of the planning and the specific involvement of each individual suspected of participating in the scheme.
