Kylian Mbappé identifies Lamine Yamal as a top young talent

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé publicly praised Barcelona attacker Lamine Yamal during an interview with L’Équipe on September 11, 2026. Mbappé described the young Spanish player as having everything required to excel in world football. Both players are currently on the 30-man shortlist for the 2026 Ballon d’Or and recently contributed to victories for their respective clubs in the opening round of the Champions League. Beyond Lamine, the Real Madrid star identified several other emerging talents across the sport, including Estevão, Arda Güler, Endrick, Warren Zaïre-Emery, and Désiré Doué. This acknowledgment comes as both Mbappé and Lamine continue to serve as central figures for their clubs during the early stages of the European campaign. The comments arrive ahead of further league and international competition for all mentioned players.
