Kylian Mbappe moves into joint-fifth on Champions League all-time goalscorer list

This milestone brings the forward into a tie with Raul Gonzalez for fifth place on the competition's all-time scoring list. Cristiano Ronaldo holds the record with 140 goals, followed by Lionel Messi with 129, while Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema also remain ahead of Mbappe. Erling Haaland currently holds the record for the fastest player to reach 50 Champions League goals, having achieved the mark in 49 appearances. While Mbappe reached his 50th goal at a slower pace than Haaland, the younger forward is now considered a contender to eventually challenge for the top of the all-time scoring list. Mbappe has made 99 total appearances in the tournament to reach his current tally of 71 goals.
