Kyson Witherspoon shows progress in Red Sox minor league start

Boston Red Sox prospect Kyson Witherspoon, the team's first-round pick in 2025, is displaying improvement with High-A Greenville. After a challenging start with a 7.18 ERA in his initial seven starts, he has rallied in his last five outings, posting a 2.92 ERA with 28 strikeouts over 24.2 innings. Witherspoon's recent performance includes his best start, where he allowed two earned runs with a career-high eight strikeouts in five innings against the Phillies' affiliate. The Red Sox are also promoting another prospect, Jack Winnay, to Double-A Portland.
