LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders play to a 1-1 draw in Los Angeles

The LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders finished in a 1-1 draw on Saturday at Dignity Health Sports Park. Marco Reus provided the opening goal for the home side, converting a penalty in the 44th minute after Hirving “Chucky” Lozano was fouled in the box. Despite controlling much of the first half, the Galaxy failed to capitalize on several additional scoring chances. Seattle increased its pressure in the second half and eventually equalized in the 80th minute when Paul Arriola finished a cross from Jordan Morris. Lucas Calegari made his debut in his second stint with the Galaxy during the match, recording a goal-line clearance. The result leaves the Galaxy looking to improve its playoff positioning with eight matches remaining in the regular season. The team prepares for an away match against Minnesota on September 19th.
